Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Auckland, effective from 1pm until 7pm, Saturday 3 January

Unstable conditions are expected during the afternoon as a low crosses Auckland and some thunderstorms are expected. For Auckland there is a chance some of these thunderstorms will become SEVERE this afternoon, bringing localised downpours with intensities of 25 to 40 mm per hour.
